I used to do tiny hand-painted spiderwebs with a striping brush, and they looked amazing for exactly one day. By day two, the fine lines had smudged into gray smears, but at least you got some nice photo of it and posted it into your feed.

Even with good prep, life happens, and I do dishes without gloves more than I should. The second I notice a lifted edge, I add a thin layer of top coat right over it, which usually buys me another three or four days.

I keep my top coat bottle on my nightstand for exactly this reason. I also apply cuticle oil every single night before bed, since dry cuticles make polish crack faster than almost anything else.
